Title
Ceramic bottle 350/II.d
Description
Ceramic bottle.
Typology: W38. Ware group NII. Ware R1. Classic X-Group Red Ware.
Dimensions: H.: 206 mm / Diam.: 144 mm
Decoration: NIIA, Classic X-Group style. On top of body HK43 repeated four times, on shoulder two grooves, on upper body one groove, on waist two grooves.- N.B.: I have yet not been able to examine the ceramics in person and I am not a trained ceramologist. Awaiting a proper study, the material is therefore presented with the vessel’s description provided in Late Nubian Cemeteries, SJE6, p. 130. In the 1960s, the study of the ceramic material was entrusted to William Y. Adams, so the description follows his typology of Nubian pottery (Adams 1986).
